PetroFrac Oil Tools launched the ROGUE™ at the Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Conference (HFTC). Since then, this new plug has been successfully deployed in numerous wells in the US and Canada. Due to its short length and fast mill out times, it is becoming the go-to frac plug on the market.

A major operator completing a spraberry well in the Permian Basin, had a two-well zipper frac; running a competitor plug in one well and the PetroFrac ROGUE in the other. While the operator traditionally used the competitor plug, this was the opportunity for the ROGUE to prove value in performance, cost and efficiency.

The PetroFrac team deployed 64 5 ½” ROGUE frac plugs utilizing the close on demand flapper isolation feature. Each plug was selectively closed and tested prior to each frac stage to ensure zonal isolation. Overall, the ROGUE program saw a 25% reduction in pump down volumes as compared to previous plugs.
